About The Hall & Young Clans
Please sign in to see more.
The Hall & Young Clans originate from me, John William Hall and my 2 beautiful wives, Kathleen and Carole Ann Young. Yes, they were sisters. My first wife Kathleen passed away in 1981 in Germany and her sister Carole came over to help me during this troubled time and look after my 4 children. One thing led to another and eventually I married Carole and took responsibility for her 4 children from a previous marriage (or should I say she took on the responsibilities of mine). As all the children had known each other for most of their lives and they were related to each other anyway the transition was not too bad. It was just the pure logistics that was the problem, although whilst doing my research to find ancestors with 14 children living in a couple of rooms made my heart sink and I thought what an easy life we have nowadays.

Anyway Carole and I now live in Howdon Wallsend in Tyne and Wear by ourselves, with our 3 cats, although the house is very rarely empty with the comings and goings of the children and their children and the odd baby sitting we get called upon to do.

I would like to thank a few people who have assisted me in my research but not in any order of importance apart from Carole who has put up with me sitting at the computer for hour after hour and accompanying me wandering round various archives and graveyards looking for clues. To Ken and Elvire many thanks for the info and the photos (I love our early weekend chats over breakfast), to Margaret and her husband, Derek and his lovely wife, Joyce and Eamon (the Scouser connection), Janet from Wales, Klifton from the Emerald Isles and the many other who have made this site possible.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
