Tribalpages Support, what do you say about that.
If I access my site using Slimjet and click on the icon next to the Website address I get a message saying "your connection to the site is not private".
If I use Google Chrome and click on the icon it says "your connection to the site is not secure. Do not enter sensitive information such as passwords and credit card details because it could be stolen by attackers "
Mozilla is similar.
No icon to click on with Microsoft Edge and with a quick look I have not found anything to check in their settings etc.
Going to tools > privacy in Google does not tell me Tribalpages is not secure.
What does all this mean exactly. I don't think anyone with any sense is going to put credit card details in their site. Deceased persons in my tree are public and if anyone wants to go to the trouble of hacking it to get living persons information I am sure that they will be wasting their time. However it would be nice to know what all the warnings mean in relation to out Tribalpages trees.
Maybe Tribalpages Support can see their way clear to write something on this subject, and make it available via Forum, to all members.
"I just tried to log in to your site and got a Firefox warning that the site was not secure and my password could be stolen. Over to you."
It seems that TP have not updated their encryption to avoid such messages, which this day and age, people take very seriously.
You should not be getting the warning regarding security from the browser anymore.
Clicking on further for "more information", in Mozilla, it says " The Website does not support encryption for the page you are visiting."
My privacy model is "membership model > medium". I moved from home page to a living person and that page, according to Mozilla is not secure. I changed my privacy to "membership model > private" and nothing changed.
