Forum is Sub-standard

Two issues - firstly, sent two messages to forum, on different boards. Three days before anything appeared. Sort of defeats the whole purpose, doesn't it? My message could have been the answer to a serious problem someone was having. But that's okay, let them wait three days (plus any wait time before their message appeared) to solve their problem. Not good enough, TP.

Secondly, one of those messages (on Feature Requests) was about how it would be good if the messages on the forums could be displayed differently (especially when returning to the list after reading a message). What has happened? Well that message is nowhere to be seen. I can only conclude it has been censored for some reason (there was absolutely nothing in the message to cause offence of any type.) Not good enough, TP

Ian Marr

TO TRIBALPAGES MANAGEMENT

I agree with Ian. We all understand the reasoning for Tribalpages management wanting to vet messages before printing these in Forum. However a 2 to 3 day delay is more than just substandard. Its amateurish and unprofessional. I know that messages can be viewed by the person who sent it when in edit mode, earlier than other members, but, that can still take far too long. Come on Tribalpages Management. Fix it now. It would be an insult to Disney if I called the present system "Mickey Mouse". Honour what you said about the time delay when you brought in this system.

I will add to my previous message (sent 1.53am USA time 26th Feb.) which does not, as yet, show up on the Forum main board 1 full working day after it was sent. ( 5.15pm Monday 26th Feb NY time as I write this)

I found immediately after sending my 1.53am message, that if I clicked on Ian's message my reply showed up below his message. Yet my reply did not show on the main board. I wondered if other members could view my message that way even though it did not, at that time, appear on the main board. Or, is it, that only the sender and the person to whom it is being sent are the only members who can view the reply (by clicking on message 1) until such time as it officially appears on the main board.

Perhaps Tribalpages could enlighten us as far as that is concerned. . Maybe Tribalpages could see their way clear to fully explain what they are trying to do and achieve. That is, if they know themselves.

Sorry if it appears confusing to you, but I have found it difficult to make it clear what I am trying to explain. I do not know what other members can or cannot see in this situation. I know that Ian could access my reply by clicking on his message ev

Hi Alan

I've seen comments/queries on the forums that look as if no-one has answered them, clicked to open them and found replies there. I think that's what you mean. Everything used to be listed on the main page, now it isn't.

Thanks for your reply Pauline. From what you say it appears that anyone, through knowledge or by accident, can see a REPLY message (together with the first posting), before it appears on the main board. This can be done from the time it is sent. (reference my reply to Ian). Therefore the reply message is NOT being censured by Tribalpages before it appears. I doubt if any one would be working at Tribalpages at 1.53 am. Reference one of my reply messages. If they were it should not take two or more days for the first message on a subject to appear in Forum.

TO TRIBALPAGES MANAGEMENT - Time to get Forum working properly. Surely messages can be properly censured each working day and messages that come through that day, appearing fully on all parts of forum, that same day.

I presume that Tibalpages do have someone working there at least five days a week. ??. Although one wonders about that given the delays.

Looks like it Ian. My shoulders WERE broad many many years ago.

HOW ABOUT THIS

SUGGESTION TO TRIBAL PAGES

Leave FORUM;s OPEN No MODERATOR as such

Put a FLAG for URGENCY to contact them on Say TOP Right

We now enter our Message

When we see this message appear, if we as Members believe it should not be there WE FLAG Moderator TAKES OVER

If not the message is then read to be answered .

When this is answered suitably to the ASKER, they then MUST ACKNOLEDGE

NOW NO FURTHER on this subject SHORT FORUM ENTRY

Just SHORT and HOPEFULLY SWEET

Regards

If Tribal support should do following. For their own benefit with the Flagging Symbol

They should add a small bit of code such as

ON MOUSE DOUBLE CLICK---CHANGE COLOUR - AND COUNT DOWN

This would warn T S that they have to see to this Entry, and will tell them how long this has been noticed..

Again leaving us to be having full mmediate useof the Forums,

Hi Ian, as you know I brought this up with TP as soon as they mentioned what they intended to do.

The MAIN POINT is that their MODERATOR is not conversant with the points raised by a Member, so in his/her wisdom (Moderator), does not see any urgency.

I had and apology from TP regarding the wait, but obviously this is/was not the answer.

What brought this issue about, is the lack of knowledge of certain members, to understand a Forum issue, and they keep on and on in the FORUM entry, making it so lengthy that TP thought that there was an argument. Again if TP had a person who understood, they would have seen that this was one sided , by reason of lack of knowledge and not wanting to believe that they were wrong.

We did have a period where they did not come back on the Forum, but alas not to be
