I am researching my family history. So far I have got back to a William McCrone baptised in the parish of old Cumnock on the 4th of September 1757 father stated as William McCrone mother Mary McCrae from Chappell house.Is anyone else conducting similar research ?

I have an ancestor Jean(Jane) McCrone (McCron) born abt. 1769!! who married William McGaan (McGavin) in Mauchline 13th Feb 1807. I have various parents for her but think they were probably Hugh McCrone (McCron) B. 1737 Old Cumnock and Janet or Jennet Tympony (Tympany) Born 1738 in New Cumnock but could be wrong. Hugh and Janet had five children one of which was Jean.

Interestingly enough it was McCrones who had the Creamery at the Haugh in Mauchline where William Lived.

I'm looking for McCrorey furthest I got back was 1840 .
